Child safety in action

Why Standard Compliance Isn’t Enough:
Elevating Our Commitment to Child Safety

Most child safety training is generic and compliance-driven. We chose a more practical approach – equipping our team with the confidence and clarity to apply safeguarding in real-world situations every day.

Child safety training can be a complex landscape to navigate. When I began researching options for the Proactivity team, I hit a common roadblock: most courses were generic, “tick-a-box” exercises that didn’t feel applicable to the dynamic, real-world environments our facilitators and leaders work in every day.

We didn’t want a certificate; we wanted genuine upskilling.

That search led me to Sally and Sheree from RB Safeguarding Solutions. As true experts in the field, they have become integral partners in helping Proactivity lead with best-practice documentation, training, and operational support.

We recently brought our Leadership Team together for a Professional Development session with Sally and Sheree. The goal was simple: Confidence and Clarity.

It wasn’t just about reciting legislation; it was about understanding what safety looks like in practice. We dove deep into:

  • Practical Application:
Translating current child safety laws into daily actions.

  • Risk Management:
How to proactively spot, prevent, and respond to risks before they escalate.

  • Consistency:
Creating a unified safeguarding approach across every school, club, and community program we run.

At Proactivity, child safety isn’t a compliance hurdle—it’s the foundation of everything we do. Thanks to this workshop, our leadership team has walked away with a clearer understanding of reporting, more confidence in handling complex scenarios, and a strengthened “child-first” culture.

We’re proud to take a proactive approach to safeguarding, ensuring that every environment we enter is as safe as it is active.
